            By my signature below, I acknowledge that my son/daughter will participate voluntarily in the Marshfield Inferno Soccer Classic on March 11, 2012 and that my son/daughter meets the age requirements as established by the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association for the age group that he/she will be competing in. I further acknowledge that participation in athletic programs and recreational activities, such as this tournament involves inherent risks of physical injury. Therefore, on behalf of my son/daughter, I hereby release and forever discharge MYSA, School District of Marshfield, all directors, agents, and members of the same from any and all liability, injury, or loss arising out of or occurring upon participation in this soccer tournament, I certify that this participant(s) is able to participate in this soccer tournament and in case of an emergency, I grant permission for my son/daughter to be given emergency medical treatment at a local hospital.

Marshfield Inferno Indoor Tournament Rules

 

  1. Coaches-Check teams in before your first game and make sure your team understands the rules.

 

2.     Players can score from anywhere on the court. This includes kickoff, goal kicks, and corner kicks. No goals can be scored from a side-in indirect kick.

 

  1. Players may run through the crease in front of the goal, but they are not allowed to touch the ball when they are in the crease.

 

*If defending team touches the ball in the crease a GOAL is awarded to attacking team.

*If attacking team touches the ball in the crease, NO GOAL. A direct kick is awarded to the defending team from that spot.

 

  1. No slide tackling is allowed! Sliding is legal to stop a free moving ball, but it cannot be used to stop an opponent in possession of the ball.

 

  1. Any wall must be set at least 2 yards away from the spot of the foul unless direct/indirect kick is less than 2 yards from the crease. In that situation the wall must be as far back as the crease will allow.

 

  1. An oncoming substitute cannot play the ball until his teammate is off the court. The penalty for illegal touching is an indirect kick from spot of violation.

 

  1. All out of bounds will be restarted with a goal kick, corner kick, or an indirect kick. The ball must be close to stationary before it is put back into play.

 

  1. The clock stops only for injury, obvious delay, or if a goal is scored in the last minute of the game.

 

  1. The ball must completely cross the goal line for it to be a goal. It is the referee’s decision.

 

  1. Kick offs will be taken after an official blows his/her whistle. It is legal to pass the ball backwards on the kickoff.

 

  1. If the ball stops dead in the crease, the restart is a goal kick for the defensive side.

 

  1. If the ball hits the ceiling it is an indirect kick for the opposing team below the spot where the ball hit.

 

  1. Shin guards are mandatory.

 

  1. Games will start on time. You can start with 2 players.
  2. FIFA rules will apply to any rule not previously stated.

 

 

NOTE: U10 Teams will play 4 V 4    U12 and U14 Teams will play 3 V 3

 

 

Scoring: Win = 6 points  Draw = 3 points   Loss = 0 points   Shut out = 3 points 

1 point per goal up to 6 points/game       [Maximum points 15 points]
